Infrastructure Acceleration Fund
Published 22 Jun 21
Criteria to access at least $1 billion of the $3.8 billion Housing Acceleration Fund (HAF), announced in March, is now available, and an invitation for expressions of interest will be released on 30 June 2021 by Kāinga Ora.
The Infrastructure Acceleration Fund (IAF) is a fund for infrastructure investment to support the new housing supply throughout Aotearoa. It aims to increase the pace and scale of housing delivery by helping to fund the critical infrastructure needed for developments.
The IAF will be administered by Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities.
More information can be found on the Infrastructure Acceleration Fund(external link) page.
Expression of Interest process
Infrastructure funding will be awarded through a contestable process. To ensure the greatest impact, the IAF will prioritise locations where there are infrastructure constraints and issues with housing supply and affordability. For more information on funding and the application process, please visit the Kāinga Ora - Infrastructure Acceleration Fund(external link) page or contact iaf@kaingaora.govt.nz.
Next steps
Most final decisions will be made in 2022, although there is the ability to fast-track some decisions to be made late in 2021 for projects that are already well validated and align strongly with the criteria.
